Jon graduated from Texas A&M University in 2001 and spent the next few years gathering a diverse range of experiences that eventually lead him into teaching. He spent 10 years in the classroom teaching various subjects including Biology, Aquatic Science and Anatomy and Physiology. He received numerous awards such as Teacher of the Year and Most Engaging Teacher. He has remodeled two houses for his family, built a tiny home and been in and out of the construction field for over 20 years. His attention to detail and ability to communicate complex topics in simple terms help to make him a great inspector. If he isn’t responding to emails or crawling under a house, he is most likely spending time with his family or working on their urban farm!
Aaron grew up in the Waco area and graduated from Baylor in 2002 with a major in English. He spent the next two years working with Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Winston-Salem and Fort Worth, where he trained and led volunteers in various aspects of homebuilding. In the spring of 2004, he served as house leader on a home that was temporarily constructed in the parking lot of The Ballpark in Arlington, the former home of the Texas Rangers baseball team. Aaron then moved to Austin and worked for a custom home builder, before following a calling to the classroom. He taught English at Lake Travis High School for 16 years, earning various distinctions, including Teacher of the Year. Home inspection allows Aaron to combine his love for teaching and his skill of observing and analyzing minute details that tell a larger story. You’re likely to encounter him on one of Austin’s many hiking trails with his wife, Karyn, and their cavapoo, Theo.
